Coral Shores running back Henry Jacobsen looks for an opening as defender Byron Peixoto closes in during a Hurricane scrimmage May 16, preparing for Thursday's spring jamboree at Marathon High School.

After three weeks of practice under a hot spring sun, football players from rival Marathon and Coral Shores high schools must be eager to hit somebody other than their own teammates.

They get that chance Thursday night when the Dolphins, Hurricanes and Doral Academy meet for a scheduled spring exhibition jamboree in Marathon. Each team is slated to play one half against the other two schools.

"Our main priority this spring is to establish our identity as a football team," said third-year head coach Ed Holly, watching the Canes hit during Monday's first spring day of contact practice.
