Toby, a 2-year-old bottlenose dolphin found stranded in November on Padre Island in Texas, arrived at his new home in the Florida Keys on Monday.
Theater of the Sea workers, with help from Marathon Fire Rescue and Florida Keys Towing, unloaded Toby off a plane at the Florida Keys Marathon Airport and transported him to the Islamorada facility.
Toby had shark and dolphin bites on his belly when found and spent months rehabilitating in Galveston with the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network.
Toby was sent to Theater of the Sea because he couldn't be released back into the wild. The National Marine Fisheries Service accepted Theater of the Sea's application to take Toby.
