Make your voice heard at budget hearings

Enjoy your three-day Labor Day weekend because starting this coming week, some hard work lies ahead. This is when taxing authorities get down to the nitty-gritty of crafting their 2010-11 budgets, which are financed by you, the taxpayers.

Justice only partially served with Acevedo’s sentence

Educators hear excuses for bad behavior all the time. Statements like “the dog ate my homework” or “he made me do it” have become cliché. But ridiculous defenses like them have always been used and kids will forever come up with even more creative ones to give future educators and parents.

With Acevedo sent to prison, community can move on

And so, we close one more door on the painful School District finance scandal with Tuesday's guilty plea by former Adult Education Coordinator Monique Acevedo. ONLY IN THE KEYS | By Jana Vandelaar

Getting older is for the birds

Sure, they aren’t too pretty, but I’ll bet they could care less.
