Michael John Hulet passed away on Oct. 11 at Mariners Hospital in Tavernier. Mike proudly managed his family’s business, the Ragged-Edge Resort, in Islamorada, where he loved to fish the local waters. After graduating from Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores, Mich. (class of 1976), he worked as a marine mechanic in Michigan, California and Florida.

He is survived by his beloved wife Rhonda, father James, brothers Jim and Bill, sister-in-laws Meg Hulet and Karen Kowalczyk, brother-in-law Ken Kowalczyk, and in-laws Sue and Robert VanHollenbeck. “Uncle Mike” will be sadly missed by his several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Hulet. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Ragged-Edge Resort at mile marker 86.5, with further details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mike’s name are suggested to Charisma Keys and Keys Cops for Kids, 470 52nd Street, Marathon, FL 33050.
