A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Oct. 26 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in New Iberia, La. for Steven Patrick Shea Sr., who died on Saturday, Oct. 24 surrounded by family and friends after a fight with cancer. He was buried in Beau Pré Cemetery.

Elaine Hirsch, 76, beloved wife of Gerald Hirsch, passed away Oct. 22 after a lengthy illness. She had lived in Tavernier and Islamorada since 1982 and had been a resident of Highland Park, Ill.

Sally Scott, 81, of Tavernier, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, Oct. 18. She was born in Scranton, Pa. on June 23, 1928.

Michael John Hulet passed away on Oct. 11 at Mariners Hospital in Tavernier. Mike proudly managed his family’s business, the Ragged-Edge Resort, in Islamorada, where he loved to fish the local waters. After graduating from Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores, Mich. (class of 1976), he worked as a marine mechanic in Michigan, California and Florida.
