Roughly 30 hopefuls applied this week to take the place of Clyde Burnett as Marathon's city manager.
Burnett resigned on Oct. 23 amid allegations he stalked and sexually harassed City Clerk Diane Clavier. He was hired May 1, 2008, to replace Mike Puto, who resigned.

Among the applicants as of Friday afternoon were 19 former city or county managers, 16 of them not from Florida. Another 11 have no managerial experience, though several have been assistant city or county managers.
