The Key West Seafood Festival kicks off its sixth year with a bulked-up menu, live music all day and a Kid's Fun Zone that includes bungee jumping and a zip line.

No need for animal ingredients with Sugar Apple's 'fakin' bacon' with lettuce, tomato and soy mayo on whole-grain bread.

When it comes to the best bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich sans the bacon, a Key West eatery is among the best in the nation.

That's according to the Norfolk, Va.,-based People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which has no tolerance for anything that can hurt animals and lobbies extensively against animal abuse.

There may be no style of beer more polarizing than the pumpkin variety.

Though hugely popular -- enough to warrant a few new brands every fall, anyway -- they also seem to elicit more sneers than any other style. I've largely been among the sneerers, which is why when it came time to evaluate 20 pumpkin beers, I called in a die-hard fan.
