Mystery, drama, good food and wine are on the menu Saturday, Nov. 14 for the Upper Keys second Murder Mystery Wine Dinner.

The Key Players take the stage with surprises, including a celebrity "guest" who may or may not be one of the clues to solving this murder mystery.

The first Murder Mystery night held in August, during Key Largo's Food and Wine Festival, was the initial effort to create a dinner theater experience, according to Patrice Messina, who directs the mystery play. "Bachelorettes and Bullets" is the intriguing title and the all-female cast promises not to disappoint, Messina said.

"There will be a few surprises," she added. "We do expect one of our local male celebrities to show up in a role that might surprise the audience."

Bob Stoky, owner of Marker 88, said he got such good feedback from patrons who attended the August event, that a reprise was in order: "We realize people are looking for fun and different things to do, so we paired with Key Players again to present another exciting night. This one, I'm told, is full of deceit, divas and dirty secrets."

During the evening and between courses, patrons will be treated to scenes that offer information and clues to the identity of the murderer. Characters from the play will also mingle with diners and answer questions to assist the audience in their quest to solve the crime and win a reward.

The four course menu features Bridesmaid's Bounty (a pumpkin bisque with coriander marshmallows) followed by Diva's Delight (Pear and Gorgonzola salad with Candied Walnuts and Maple Balsamic Vinagrette).

The main course of Vixen's Chicken serves up Bombay chicken with shrimp and beef in a mild coconut curry sauce, served over rice.

At the end, when all is revealed, diners will enjoy Delicious Deception, a strawberry rhubarb crisp with vanilla bean ice cream. Each course will be paired with wines chosen for the occasion.

Tickets are $75 and include tax and gratuity. For reservations, call 852-9315.
