"Wild Willie" Wilhelmina Harvey was a colorful Key West character, best known late in life as the first woman to be mayor of Monroe County, a certified Conch, and supporter of the arts.
It's that latter element of her legacy that will be displayed at The Gallery on Greene, starting Saturday.

The waters off Sombrero Beach become the racecourse for a day of dragon boat racing, involving 20 paddlers moving in unison. The festival is free and open to the public. Food, beverages, merchandise and a variety of entertainment will be available on shore at Sombrero Beach park.

Hit songwriters from a cross-section of the country will descend on the Keys for the Key Largo Original Music Fest May 16-19.
More than 25 musicians from Nashville, Texas, New Jersey, Florida and the Keys will perform with special singers and songwriters in the round scheduled most days of the four-day fest.

A Brooklyn graphic designer who discovered the Everglades some 16 years ago will be the featured artist at the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center Gallery in Everglades National Park.

Get ready Key West, Country's comin' to town. The annual pilgrimage of Nashville's finest songwriters to the Southernmost City begins on Wednesday, May 1 for the 2013 Smokin' Tuna 18th Annual Key West Songwriters Festival presented by BMI.
