Seven Cuban migrants with gunshot wounds found off Key West, taken to hospital

Keynoter PublishingMarch 26, 2016

Seven Cuban migrants -- all with gunshot wounds, possibly self-inflicted -- were interdicted at sea Saturday afternoon and all were taken to Lower Keys Medical Center on Stock Island. Six were airlifted out to Miami trauma centers.

They were on a makeshift raft with another 19 who were also interdicted but did not require medical attention, the U.S. Coast Guard District 7 public affairs office said. The ones not needing medical attention will likely be repatriated.

This is a developing story.
