Passed-out man found surrounded by Easter eggs

April 23, 2014

A Fort Myers man was arrested Saturday in Key West after police found him passed out surrounded by Easter eggs.

Demetrios Lilas, 33, was near Emma and Angela streets in Bahama Village when police found him just after noon, according to a report by Officer Frank Betz.

Betz and Officer Matthew Johnson roused Lilas, who appeared "slow and lethargic," Betz wrote. He was on the ground with "several plastic Easter eggs" at his side.

After consenting to a search, police reportedly found half a gram of cocaine in two separate plastic bags and a Bic pen cap with the clip bent and covered in white powdery residue. Lilas was charged with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Betz's report doesn't indicate from where the Easter eggs came.
