Space is still available for dive and snorkel trips this weekend to watch the Coral Restoration Foundation transplant coral on the reef off the Upper Keys.

On Friday, there is a full-day coral restoration event from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. The $150-per-person cost includes coral restoration training in the morning, lunch at the Pilot House Restaurant and a two-tank dive trip to the reef. The morning training is at the CRF’s education center located at 5 Seagate Boulevard in Key Largo.

On Saturday, there is a VIP dive for $300-per-person with the CRF’s Ken Nedimyer and sealife artist Wyland from 7:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Dive equipment, lunch at Amoray Dive Resort at mile marker 104, a Wyland T-shirt, a video of the dive and a meet-and-greet lunch reception at Amoray are included in the price.

All divers must bring proof of certification. Snorkelers are welcome.

Also on Saturday, the Key Largo Princess glass bottom boat will observe one of the restoration projects. The boat leaves from the Holiday Inn docks, mile marker 99.7, at 9 a.m. Tickets are $50 per adult and $30 per child, and includes a CRF T-shirt.

The dive and snorkel trips, as well as a gala Saturday night at the Hilton Resort in Key Largo, benefit the Coral Restoration Foundation.
