As reported in the Keynoter, the Marathon City Council, the Marathon city attorney and the Marathon city manager have discussed the recent arrest of the city's finance director, Peter Rosasco, and have decided to not address the situation.
No surprise with their decision but did I miss the meeting? Because I do not remember a meeting taking place. Government in the sunshine apparently does not exist in Marathon, and has gone down the toilet with ethics and the most basic principles of democracy. We need prayer in Marathon, if only city attorney, John Herin, knew how to write a resolution allowing it to happen without all of the controversy.
Editor's note: Staff meetings such as the one held by City Manager Mike Puto and Rosasco are not subject to the Sunshine Law governing open government. Puto polled council members individually; they didn't consult with each other.
