Re: Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi's Feb. 18 column in the Miami Herald, "Fighting against federal government's overreach:"
Bondi thinks the people of Florida are ignorant and blind. All you need to see is a bright-green algae bloom downstream from Big Sugar and the story is clearly and simply told.
Bondi says that Florida's leaders "know our waterways best" and, per an agreement with the Environmental Protection Agency, are implementing "their own sound criteria that will safeguard our water from excess nitrogen and phosphorus pollution."
What a load. As is typical of the right wing, she pretends the issue is about government overreach to divert our attention from her ridiculous position. She and Gov. Rick Scott have got to go before more irreparable damage is done to our water.
