Erik Vinson won the pole vault and Aaliyah Allen won the 100-meter dash as the Key West High boys and girls track teams each finished fourth in the nine-team Pine Crest Home Open meet Saturday in Fort Lauderdale.
Vinson cleared 13 feet, 1 inch, five inches off the personal-best 13-6 he cleared at the recent Father Luis Ripoll Relays at Belen Jesuit in Miami. The school record is 15-6, set by Hunter Potalivo in 2007.
Allen, a freshman, won the 100 in 13.44 seconds, and was also third in the 200-meter dash and fourth in the long jump.
Jack Grubs was second in the shot put (41 feet 1 inch) and second in the discus toss (125-1), behind only Archbishop McCarthy's Joseph Bost in both events.
Third-place performances were turned in by Brock Guzman in the mile run (4:50), Ryan Wagner (two-mile run), Quanzell Moore (100 in 11.98) and Zach Lightfoot (pole vault).
Also for the Key West boys, Leif Cisneros was fifth in the 400, Dorian Cannon was fifth in the long jump and Caleb DeAbreu was sixth in the high jump.
For the Conch girls, Olivia Kennedy finished second in the 300 hurdles, Emily Good was fifth in the pole vault, Francesca Garcia was fifth in the 100 hurdles and Tristin Milliken was seventh in the mile run (5:54).
Key West will return to Fort Lauderdale this Saturday for the Pine Crest Relays.
