Elvis lives, sort of.
Elvis impersonator Jim Jinelli brings the King to the Middle Keys stage for a March 1 performance of Elvis: A Concert Experience at the Marathon Community Theatre, mile marker 49.5 oceanside. Tickets are $24 and include a post-show party with peanut butter and banana sandwiches -- Presley's favorite.
Jinelli is a Chicago native who's been performing his tribute to Presley across the nation for more than 20 years. His portrayal covers the touring years of 1971 to 1977. Just as Elvis covered many more songs in his concerts than his own, so does Jinelli.
He started singing at age 7 and learned to play many instruments by the age 12. While in high school in the mid-1970s, he performed 1950s '60s rock 'n' roll with a band. In the years that followed, performing became a major part of his life.
