The Community Foundation of the Florida Keys is accepting applications for its Leadership Success Academy board training program.
The program offers training in best practices in leadership development and governance skills for members of nonprofit boards of directors. To date, the academy has trained more than 300 board members from 92 nonprofit groups.
This year's academy begins Feb. 20 and includes five half- to full-day training sessions through April. Applications are being accepted from board members of 501(c)3 charitable organizations, service/civic and membership organizations, and government groups and coalitions.
Up to four members from any board can apply, including the executive director/CEO). Application forms are available at www.cffk.org
"Effective leadership is critical in helping nonprofits achieve their goals, build stability, and meet community needs," said Dianna Sutton, president and CEO of the Community Foundation.
The academy trains in leadership style, board governance, organizational development, financial literacy, fundraising and development, and strategic planning. Debbie Mason, president of Strategists Inc., facilitates the training. All sessions are held at the DoubleTree Grand Key Resort in Key West.
