Detectives investigate Key Largo burglaries

November 19, 2013

Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating at least seven recent home and vehicle burglaries in Key Largo.

Deputy Becky Herrin, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, stressed the importance of people locking the doors on their cars and homes when they are away and at night while they are sleeping.

In the most recent burglary cases, a suspect or suspects have entered both occupied and unoccupied homes. Most homes and vehicles that were burglarized were left unlocked, although forced entry was used in at least one instance, Herrin said. Items taken include cash, purses, wallets and sunglasses.
