Also, entrance fees to Everglades National Park will be waived during the Veterans Day weekend, Nov. through 11.
The park will host an open house at its historic Nike Missile Site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 11. Visitors can tour the missile site, built in the middle of a national park shortly after the Cuban Missile Crisis and view a 40-foot Nike Hercules missile.
Superintendent Dan Kimball said, "Visiting the Nike Missile Site gives visitors a chance to step back in time and reflect on the legacy of the Cold War. This is a place where history comes to life and whispers of the past can be heard in the wind."
