The state's 24 regional workforce boards and nearly 100 one-stop career centers will be renamed CareerSource, under a changeover authorized by the Florida Legislature.
This affects South Florida Workforce, which has two offices in the Keys and is part of a Miami-Dade-Monroe regional board. Starting in 2014, the employment service agency for this region will be known as CareerSource South Florida.
Chris Hart IV, president of Workforce Florida, says the rebranding will end confusion over different names used in different parts of the state.
The Workforce South Florida career center in Key Largo is at 103400 Overseas Highway, Suite 239 (853-3540). In Key West, the career center is at 1111 12th St., Suites 307-308 (292-6762).
The career centers offer job training and work through area employers, keep a listing of available jobs and offer career counseling and other services for clients seeking employment.
