Meeting to discuss Lower Matecumbe Key wastewater project

August 15, 2013

A meeting to provide wastewater collection system information to residents of Lower Matecumbe Key will be held at the Founders Park Community Center on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. at the Boy Scout Sea Base located at mile marker 73.8.

At the meeting, representatives from Reynolds Water Islamorada, the village and Wade Trim will present and discuss the preliminary design for the Lower Matecumbe Key Wastewater Collection System. Residents will have an opportunity to review their proposed location for connection to the system and request modifications.

As the design and construction of the wastewater collection and transmission system project progresses, informational neighborhood meetings are being held in each area of the village during the design process and again prior to construction. The meetings are intended to educate property owners about the process and to allow the Wastewater contractor and Village staff to gather input from the public.

Plans will be available for review by the public, and representatives will answer questions throughout the meeting. The neighborhood meetings are less formal than meetings of the Village Council and are not televised.

Reynolds Water Islamorada representatives can be reached in their Islamorada office at (305) 414-8356 and have a website designated to the Islamorada Wastewater Project at www.reynoldswaterislamorada.com. For additional information, contact Sandy Skeel by e-mail at sandy.skeel@islamorada.fl.us or by telephone at (305) 664-6455.
