Energy efficiency is workshops' goal

October 12, 2011

Keys Energy Services is offering free energy-efficiency workshops on Oct. 18 for its commercial customers.

The workshops are designed for anyone who owns or manages a business and is interested in saving money by reducing energy use throughout their operation.

"The workshops will provide attendees with practical strategies for managing energy usage more effectively as well as empower customers with information about new and innovative energy efficient technologies," said Lynne Tejeda, Keys Energy's general manager and chief executive officer.

Workshop will include indoor and outdoor lighting, air conditioning, ventilation and commercial equipment. Also, the workshops will teach those who attend how to compare existing equipment energy use with more efficient technologies on the market, set energy saving goals, and develop and implement an energy management plan.

The workshops will take place at Keys Energy's board room at 1001 James St., Key West, at three different times: 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., and 2:30 p.m. Reservations are required since seating is limited to 35 people per session.

To reserve a spot, call or send an e-mail to Julio Barroso, Keys Energy's marketing coordinator, at 295-1023 or Julio.Barroso@KeysEnergy. Up to two people per business will be allowed as space permits.

Keys Energy is the electric utility for customers from the Seven Mile Bridge south through Key West.
