Scuba-Fun, a Key Largo dive center for European tourists, moved to its new location in the building on the median at mile marker 92.2 noted for its sea life mural painted by artists Wyland and Guy Harvey in 2007.

“I have looked at it many times and thought: there should be a dive shop in there,” Scuba-Fun owner Anya Elis said in a statement.

The business moved from its original location at mile marker 99.8. There will be a grand opening party on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m.

Scuba-Fun advertises extensively in Europe via TV, print and trade shows to bring more European tourists to Key Largo to dive, Elis said.

The newly remodeled ground floor of the building now hosts a check-in and a retail area, a classroom, a scuba gear locker and a staff room, as well as a sitting area for divers to talk about their trips, Elis said.

Scuba-Fun was founded by Elis in 2006. It caters mainly to foreign tourists and divers. Languages spoken by the staff are English, German, Spanish and French. Scuba-Fun offers dive and snorkel trips, scuba instruction, accommodation packages with several local hotels, Everglades and Florida Bay kayak trips, sunset trips and sailing charters.
